A new cast addition to Vidya Balan’s much-awaited film Shakuntala Devi has been announced.
Pataakha fame actor Sanya Malhotra will be playing Vidya Balan’s daughter in Shakuntala Devi; former will be playing the titular lead.
Sanya shared the news on her official Twitter handle. She wrote, ” Super excited to play Anupama Banerji in #ShakuntalaDevi.Already in love with my look in the film.”

Along with her post was also a picture of her in a new hair-look with bangs that makes her almost unrecognizable. She is seen wearing sky-blue pants and a multicouloured sweatshirt. Her character poster also reads, ” Sanya Malhotra as Anupama Banerji”.
Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh also confirmed the news on social media.

Sanya had created excitement around the announcement on Thursday with another character poster she had shared with a caption, “Wait, don’t judge a book by its cover Stay tuned for what’s behind it- tomorrow!”
In the poster, she was seen in the same outfit with a book written by Shakuntala Devi.

Vidya and Sanya’s film went on floors on September 20 in London.
The film is based on Shakuntala Devi, an Indian writer and ‘human calculator’, whose talent of making incredibly swift calculations on her fingertips, discovered by her father, won her several awards across the world including a Guinness Book of World Records mention in 1982.
She is also credited to have written the first study of homosexuality in India.
Shakuntala Devi-Human Computer is produced by Sony Pictures Network Productions and Vikram Malhotra and is slated to release in the summer of 2020.
